Coming south to the center of the city, one can view more warbirds at the Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering, which is a part of the Military College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME). The FAE has in its inventory one Ajeet airframe [E1979] and two Chetak Helicopters. One of the Chetak helicopters is actually a cutaway airframe , which looks like a salvaged piece from an aircrash. Not much details available on it though. This airframe has been moved elsewhere in mid 2002.
During the ninth reunion of the EME held in 2004, another new Chetak airframe had been observed. This Chetak Z-984 has been seen in other advertisements and training litterature.

Two views of HAL Chetak Z-984 which was displayed at the Ninth EME Reunion held at Docca Stadium in Trimulgherry. The Helicopter is believed to be one of the airframes on strength along with Z-396 above. |
When in 2001, the College of Defence Management in Bolarum was shifted to its new premises at Sainikpuri, a beautifully restored MiG-21U [U-660] Two seater trainer was installed outside the gate. The MiG was the IAF’s representation of monuments outside the CDM Complex. Last seen the aircraft was displayed on a platform without any fence or protection to keep away the roadside visitor. The aircraft was in pristine condition.
