The Hindu reported in May that an aircraft engine was fished out by fishermen off the Beypore coast at Kochi in Kerala. The Radial Engine, which appears to have come off either an Avenger, Hellcat or a Corsair was later heli-lifted by the Navy to one of their bases.

Catches like this are not a surprise off the Coast of Cochin. The previous discovery of a Vought Corsair has been recorded on this site, as well as the wreckage of a Sea Hawk fished out by the fishermen later on.
However there appears to be no effort to preserve these fished out relics after their recovery and subsequent possession by the Navy.
