Ouragan IC-585 at Gliderdome
The Ouragan was first reported by Rahul M,
who sent us the earlier pics of the Warbirds at NDA Khadakvasla. Rahul has told us that he
was quite sure that an Ouragan was there by the Cadets mess which has now gone missing.
The status of this aircraft had been marked down to "Missing".

Recently when Kapil visited NDA, he
rediscovered the Ouragan. It has been moved to the Academy's Airstrip/Gliderdrome. The NDA
has acquired about a dozen Demona Motorised Gliders last year and has been actively using
them to train the Cadets earmarked to join the Indian Air Force. The Ouragan is now
displayed at the Gliderdrome.

Care has been taken to replicate the
exact markings of the Ouragan to a very great detail. The insignia of the No.4 Squadron,
The Oorials is visible prominently on the front fuselage. Photo

The aircraft [IC-585] is in excellent
condition, with the Squadron emblem of the Oorials, No.4 Squadron prominently painted on
its nose. The Cockpit canopy an windsheild have been painted over to protect the insides
from UV rays.
The aircraft markings and details seem to
have been reproduced in quite excellent detail. Marked as 'R' the photographs speak for
themselves on the condition of the aircraft. Of the four Ouragans that have come to our
notice till date, this one is clearly among the best.
