Hunter unvielded at Nagpur

, Nagpur: The Chief
of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A Y Tipnis , had in a special function unvieled a Hawker
Hunter T.66 aircraft in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation park. The aircraft was donated to
the NMC two years back, but it was only this year for the 400 year celebrations of the
city raising, the aircraft was put up on display.
The serial number
of the aircraft is S-576. This aircraft was first observed as withdrawn from use at
Kalaikunda by Simon Watson/Phil Camp during thier visit to the airbase. It is a two seater
trainer version.
The aircraft was
one of the two initially donated by the IAF. The other aircraft was reportedly returned
back. A Special IAF Team had arrived some days before in help install the aircraft and in
painting it.
