Sainik School Bijapur is one of the 25 Sainik Schools of India. Established by the Government of India in 1963, the main aim of the school is to prepare boys to join the armed forces.  Sainik School Bijapur is located in the district Bijapur, Karnataka, India. The campus spreads across 400+ acres of land, with all the facilities for the students.

Gulbarga is a small town in the district of the same name in northern Karnataka. It is closer to Hyderabad, about 220 km by road, it is connected by rail and also boasts a small airstrip. It was one of the main bastions of the Nizam of Hyderabad's kingdom and one of the first to fall to the advancing Indian troops in the police action of 1948.

Dakota and HT-2 at Dharmasthala

Dharmsthala is a place of religious interest in the interiors of Southern Karnataka. It is quite famous for the Hindu temple of Lord Manjunatha and is also a famous center of pilgrimage. The town is located in Beltangady Taluk of South Canara district, and is about 300km from Bangalore, capital of Karnataka. The nearest airport is at the city of Mangalore, 75km from here.

HAL HT-2 in Bidar

Bidar is located at the border with   Andhra Pradesh and is much closer to Hyderabad and Dundigal than it is to Bangalore. Just about a 100 km distance from Hyderabad, Bidar has a full fledged Air Force Station flying the Kiran Mk Is and IA's as part of the curriculum of the Air Force Academy at Dundigal. It is also the homebase for the Suryakiran Aerobatic display team, flying the Kiran Mk II trainers.

There is a HT-2 on display at the gate of the Air Force Station Bidar. The aircraft is unmarked with no serial on display.
