To the north of Bangalore, just after the Hebbal flyover is the village of Jakkur, which now hosts the Jakkur airfield. Jakkur is home to the Bangalore flying club as well as various flying schools and 'aerospace companies'. The presence of light aircraft is always visible at Jakkur.

The Club has an Aeronca Superchief which is maintained in flying condition. This example VT-CQQ has been flying since four decades! Coincidentally the Jakkur airstrip is also the home for a HAL HUL-26 Pushpak, VT-DWA which was an HAL manufactured modified copy of the Superchief. The Pushpak is owned by CABS which conducts air-experience flights for graduates of IISc.

There are also a couple of 'broken down' Gliders that probably flew with an NCC Unit. A dilapidated Husky Ultralight can also be seen besides one of the hangars.
